Multiply the length × width × depth to get the volume, then convert to cubic yards (1 yd³ = 27 ft³). This tool does the math and also estimates the number of bags — for example, an 80 lb bag of concrete yields about 0.6 ft³.
It depends on the material's density. Gravel is roughly 1.4 tons per cubic yard, topsoil about 1.1, and sand about 1.3. This calculator applies typical densities to estimate weight in tons from your volume.
